Meadville Forging Company recognizes that the Benefits provided by the Company are critical to the wellbeing of our employees and their families. Therefore, MFC will extend Benefits through May 31, 2020 for all employees who were furloughed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dear MFC Team Member:
I hope this letter finds you safe and healthy. My thoughts are with you and your family as you face the daily challenges presented by this pandemic. I’d like to personally thank you for your commitment to our company.
As the time to return to work nears, I am certain that everyone will pull together to keep themselves and each other safe.
What to expect when you return to work:
Upon returning to work, each employee will report to a designated area where a healthcare professional will take your temperature PRIOR to entering the plant. If your temperature is higher than 100 degrees Fahrenheit, you will be given an envelope with instructions and asked to return home.
Employees will be required to wear face masks while at work to protect themselves and their coworkers. MFC will provide these masks your first day back. Disposable masks are in short supply due to the great need in the healthcare field. You may be provided with a reusable mask and we ask that you wash it regularly and reuse it. See enclosed instructions per the CDC.
Employees will also be required to wear disposable gloves for most tasks during your shift. Again, the supply of gloves is very low as most have been diverted to healthcare workers. Due to this temporary situation, please do not use more gloves than needed per day, while still protecting yourself.
Everyone will be expected to perform cleaning and sanitizing of shared equipment and surfaces, as you use them. Social distancing will be mandatory. Please read the enclosed “Covid-19 Work Rules” prior to your first day back to work. Also, please watch the videos that are posted on our website, regarding hand washing, use of gloves and masks, etc. Visit www.meadforge.com and click on the box marked View Instructional Videos.
We are all very anxious to get back to work and resolute in our commitment to the health and safety of all employees. The new rules and expectations are in place to protect everyone. Your support and compliance is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we do our best to navigate all of the unknowns. I am grateful for your support during this difficult time. We are truly one team, and we will all get through this together.
We are all faced with very difficult and unprecedented times. During this time of crisis, the top priority of Meadville Forging is the health and safety of our employees. This time of quarantine will pass soon, and we can get back to our normal lives. Please enjoy the extra time that you have with your family and friends, it is a time to cherish. Also during this time, Meadville Forging Company would like to wish you and your family a safe and healthy Easter Holiday.

Operations at MFC remain idled due to the outbreak of COVID-19. There continues to be no definitive date when operations will resume. The State of Michigan still has a Stay at Home decree till April, 13, 2020. Pennsylvania and Ohio have issued Stay at Home decrees through April 30, 2020. We are speaking daily with our customers, to understand projected return to work dates. As of this time, due to the uncertainty of this ever changing situation, individual return to work dates have not been determined. We appreciate your patience through these difficult and unprecedented times. If you need assistance, please contact your HR representative.
